Best hidden food gem in Arizona: Hong Kong Asian Diner in Tempe. Some of the best authentic Cantonese/Chinese food. Order the Jing Du Pai Gu (legit sweet and sour pork), pan-fried noodles, roast duck, mapo tofu and braised pork belly in the clay pot.
Advice for someone looking to build a meaningful digital following: Engage with your followers! I always try to comment and message people back so we can try to get to know each other on a personal level. Plus, I try to share more of my personal life to connect with people on more than just food.
A Valley-based chef or restaurateur that inspires you and why: Chef Donald Hawk. He’s so innovative and his food is just so darn good. Valentine is one of my favorite spots.
What would you like to see more of in the Arizona food scene: I would love to see more Taiwanese and Korean food. I’m always craving a good lu rou fan (Taiwanese braised pork bowl) or Kalbijjim (Korean braised short ribs). The Asian food scene has definitely grown though, and I love to see it!
