Fabulous People: Morgan Renfro

Specializing in natural results and always looking to elevate the Aesthetics industry, Morgan Renfro is the co-founder of Scottsdale’s Lumen + Bevel Aesthetics. “We love to treat through education,” she says. Learn about Morgan Renfro…

Hometown: Phoenix

First job: Girl scout! I took my cookie-selling very seriously.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: Learning, training and spending time with my little fur baby! I am absolutely in love with learning anything and everything I can about facial anatomy and spreading the pearls I have learned through the years with other injectors so that together we can all elevate the Aesthetics industry. My puppy (Goldendoodle, Nala) is such a bundle of love, and her cuddling skills are unreal.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: [Earning my] RN, CANS degree. Becoming a national trainer for Galderma + Allergan has allowed me to train other medical professionals on how to use the facial injectable treatments safely and obtain amazing, natural results.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Starting a non-essential medical practice during a global pandemic. I have narcolepsy. It took close to five years for me to get an official diagnosis for narcolepsy. Prior to that diagnosis, I was sleeping 20 hours a day and unable to lead a normal life. As soon as I finally got my diagnosis, I was able to start treatment, go to RN school, pursue my Aesthetics career in LA and then move to Scottsdale to start Lumen + Bevel Aesthetics.

Someone who inspires you and why: Professor Sebastian Cotofana. This anatomist is absolutely changing the aesthetics industry for the better. He is innovative and finds out the WHY behind many questions asked by performing his own clinical trials to help guide safest practices and techniques. He is educating injectors all over the world on facial anatomy and is going to be a pioneer in this industry. Because the Aesthetics industry is still in its infancy, there is a lot of opportunity to learn, and he is making sure that we’re advancing our skills and anatomical knowledge. Because we’re so passionate about training, knowing that Sebastian Cotofana is actively allowing us to learn new concepts and techniques safely.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: One of the keys is finding a position that will allow you to work full time. Find a mentor that will help groom you and grow with them. Always continue your education and never stop learning.

Favorite quote: To truly master your craft, you must, “See one, do one, teach one.” See one means getting the idea. Do one – by one, we really mean thousands. Teach one means to really seal in the knowledge we’ve gained watching (seeing) treatments many times, performing them ourselves thousands of times and being able to make very complex anatomical and injectable-related concepts seem simple.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I can still do a backflip! As a gymnast and cheerleader my whole life, this is one fun skill I’m going to hold on to for as long as I can.

What makes someone fabulous: Passion, honesty, kindness and confidence. Also, never settling and always learning.
