First job: A server at a restaurant. I ended up working in the food and beverage industry until I made the move to the cannabis industry. I loved it.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: I love the fact that you can drive two hours north or northeast and be in an entirely different climate in Arizona. My family and I enjoy hiking and fishing, and we also try to explore a lot of the local farms around the Valley. We go fruit and vegetable picking, and it always turns into a learning experience for my children to see where their food comes from.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Having Giving Tree Dispensary make it to the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America this year. For me, it represents that we are acknowledged in this industry and also shows how we were able to persevere and survive the turbulence of the last 10 years. Despite the challenges, as a small, female woman-owned cannabis company, we were still able to double the company over the last two years.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: Overcoming the separation from my business partner was one of the toughest obstacles I overcame. Parting a business with someone is like ending a relationship, which isn’t always smooth. It’s important to recognize early on that things might look different once you get beyond the startup phase. For me, I finally realized that my partner and I were looking for something different and that our goals were not aligned. It wasn’t until after the separation that I saw how the business had been suffering and that this reconfiguration was necessary. Being able to get through that and still find success on the other side was not easy and I give thanks to the people who stuck with me through that time.
Someone who inspires you and why: My sisters, each one for a different reason but this year I am mostly inspired by my little sister, Ella. She is 33 years old and was diagnosed with cervical cancer a year ago. She is a powerhouse and one of the strongest women I know, even when she doesn’t feel strong. She didn’t just deal with cancer, she and her husband made their journey public to encourage women to get tested regularly and notice the symptoms early on. She made her own pain a public health service and continues to do so! Ella shares her mental struggles, something we don’t do often, educating people on the long recovery journey, which often doesn’t end with the physical removal of cancer cells. She doesn’t let people get away with ignorant questions or comments; she holds them accountable for their words and educates them on how to better approach and discuss cancer with patients who are living through it. She is real, she is raw, she is healing and she is my inspiration.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Everybody thinks this is a way to get rich fast, and it is not. Make sure this is really something that you want to do in life and that you are passionate about, something that will make you jump out of bed in the morning. It really takes time and it is a rollercoaster.

I want to encourage women to explore new industries where the rules are still being written. As one of the only women to hold majority ownership of an Arizona dispensary, I had to focus more on the opportunity than the risk. Recently, I launched a new brand, Revelry, a cannabis wellness collection formulated to help alleviate some of the common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. An under addressed healthcare issue and a somewhat taboo subject, I’m always trying to find new channels and new ways to support women and gender parity.
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I served two years in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces).
