How did your love story begin? Cristina: In 1998, we met while both living in San Diego. Joey’s sister, Melissa, introduced us and she played matchmaker. Yes, I fell in love with his beautiful blue eyes, and he charmed me for eight months and then proposed to me. We married on Dec. 4, 1999. Joey: We met in San Diego in 1998, and it was love at first sight. I was a flamboyant, gold-chain-wearing Sicilian man that she could not resist. She was the most beautiful woman I’d ever laid eyes on.
Favorite thing about one another: Cristina: My favorite thing about Joey is his passion for life, the smile on his face and, of course, his gold chains. Joey: Her beauty, her happy and amazing personality. She’s also just a wonderfully good human that I needed in my life.
Favorite date night: Cristina: A simple night at home with a nice dinner and Netflix.
Favorite tradition you have as a couple: Joey: Come on, we’re foodies! A great dinner with our kids with an amazing bottle of wine while reminiscing on our love and great times together. Of course, she is the dessert.
What does your happily ever after look like? Joey: Hopefully, a long healthy life together. We would love to travel the world more often, keep creating awesome restaurant brands and watch our children get married and have grandchildren. We want the simple life of health, love, prosperity and tons and tons of romantic nights together.
