Favorite ways to spend family time in AZ: As a family, we enjoy taking a lot of trips together. We spend a lot of time in Flagstaff and hike in places like Sedona. When we’re not exploring around Arizona, my wife and I like to take our children to fun places in the Valley like the Children’s Museum, Diamondback games, parks and more. One of my favorite things to do has been to coach my son’s sports teams. For the last two years, I’ve coached him in baseball and soccer, and it’s been so much fun watching (and helping) him learn and excel in both activities.

Your most rewarding fatherhood moment: I would say one of the most rewarding moments I’ve had as a parent is when my son got to meet his newborn sister for the first time. Before we went to the hospital, we picked out a book for him to read to her. We didn’t know exactly how he was going to react to a new sibling, but he was instantly so caring and excited to share something with her. It was the first time we were all together as a family, and it was an unforgettable experience. It made me incredibly proud and excited to be their dad.

Biggest challenge as a dad: My wife and I both come from families where our siblings are eight years apart from us. We never had to battle for the same toys or attention from our parents. With our kids being born closer together, there’s been a learning curve in navigating how to get them to get along and playing together at times. It’s been fun as well, but definitely new territory for both of us!

A father who inspires you and why: I learned a lot about the dynamics of business from my own dad and grew up always wanting to be an entrepreneur like him. He always had an unbelievable work ethic. He taught me not to be afraid of failure, and I think that’s one of the most important lessons you can learn in not only business but in life.

Best piece of advice for a new dad: As parents, we spend a lot of time preparing and looking forward to the bigger milestones our kids will experience. But in reality, you should just enjoy the smaller moments as well because it all does go by so fast.

Your biggest hope for your children: I want them to grow up and live successful lives on their own terms. And I hope I can be there as a guide to help them achieve whatever their dreams may be.

How are you celebrating Father’s Day? I’ll be spending the day with my wife and kids. We love to host at our home, and plan on celebrating along with all the amazing fathers in our family.
