Dad to: Chloe, 13; Jax, 11; and Kaylee, 9.
Hometown: Scottsdale
Favorite ways to spend family time in AZ: Grilling and using the smoker outside, and swimming in the pool during the summer.
Your most rewarding fatherhood moment: Each of my kids have received awards at school for accelerated reading. As an avid reader myself, I love to see my kids enjoy getting lost in a good book.
Biggest challenge as a dad: Resetting after work when you are exhausted so you can be 100-percent engaged mentally when you get home.
A father who inspires you and why: Charlie Ferrell is my godfather. Growing up, he and his wife Bertha were always a big part of my life. But now as I’m older, I really appreciate the fact that he’s still a big part of not only his kids’, but his grandchildren’s lives too. I pray that when my kids are older, they will still look up to me and be eager to have me be a part of their lives.
Best piece of advice for a new dad: Actions are worth a thousand words. Your kids are always watching. Love on their mother and spend time with your family. Your kids will care more about the time you spend with them than the things you get for them.
Your biggest hope for your children: That they will always know they are loved, feel empowered to try (and fail), and find joy and contentment in whatever they choose to do with their lives.
How are you celebrating Father’s Day? We will be in Pinetop enjoying the outdoors with all of our family.
