Fab Moms: Arizona

Liz Pogue

Liz Pogue is the CEO and owner of the Valley’s own Senita Athletics. “Our biggest goal being to design products that inspire every woman to feel her best and to live healthy, happy and beautiful lives and to cultivate the community that has been established around those products.

Mom to: Peyton, 3 months

Hometown: Carmel, Indiana

Favorite ways to spend family time in AZ: My favorite way to spend family time right now is taking long walks (Peyton is obsessed with watching the tree branches pass by overhead!) or checking out new patios with her (we’ve been loving Lou’s at Papago Golf Club, Glai Baan and The Wandering Tortoise). As Peyton gets a bit older, we’re excited to get back to exploring new hikes around Arizona.

Your most rewarding motherhood moment: The first time Peyton smiled was absolutely the highlight for me so far! There’s nothing I (or her Dad) won’t do for one of her adorable smiles or giggles.

Biggest challenge as a mom: The biggest challenge for me is being incredibly intentional with my time. I’m constantly working to be as present and deliberate with my time so that I can enjoy both my time spent furthering Senita and my time with Peyton and all of her many milestones.

A mother who inspires you and why: Gregg Renfrew (Beautycounter founder) is a mom who is incredibly inspiring to me. She is building and furthering a brand, cultivating a community, changing the landscape of beauty and it’s regulation in the United States and still knows how to balance where she needs to keep family at the center of everything she does.

Best piece of advice for a new mom: My best advice would be to take it one day at a time and to figure out what you need to be in your best head space (support from your partner, a bath a day, a walk outside, etc.). I truly feel like finding, and prioritizing, that makes a world of difference in how you show up for your child.

Your biggest hope for your children: Not a day goes by that I don’t think about who she’ll grow up to become and my wishes for her. Ultimately, I hope that she knows how loved she is and that she is happy and confident in herself, her capabilities and her place in this world.

How are you celebrating Mother’s Day? I’m not quite sure yet! We’re still establishing our traditions as a family of three (!) but if I had to guess it will be brunch paired with a long walk (our favorites!) and an extraordinary amount of cuddles from Miss Peyton.
