What do you do: I am the co-founder and executive vice president of marketing of ONEHOPE Wine, a world-class Napa Valley winery and giving platform that brings people together to share wine and give hope. I am also the executive director of the ONEHOPE Foundation.

Share with us how you give back: While working for Gallo after graduating college, I was stocking wine with colleague Jake Kloberdanz at a grocery store in the wee hours of an October morning. We noticed the entire store – save for the wine aisle – was pink thanks to the many products supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We loved it but found ourselves sad both that wine wasn’t represented in support of the cause and that come Nov. 1, all of the pink was gone yet there was no other cause to support. Together with fellow colleagues, we came up with the idea to start a wine company that partnered with a host of causes and transparently donated a portion of every dollar made directly back to each group.

ONEHOPE donates 10 percent from every bottle sold toward creating a lasting impact for local and global causes. Our award-winning wines are poured by the glass in top restaurants and hotels in all 50 states and are shipped direct-to-consumer in most states.  And in 2020, despite COVID-19, we opened our first full-scale tasting room in the heart of Napa Valley, becoming the first-ever impact-driven winemaker in the region. Located in the coveted wine region of Rutherford, the space allows us to host wine tastings, events and even our own annual harvest parties, the most recent of which raised $317,000 to provide clean drinking water to thousands in the developing world. The success of the brand also allowed us to launch the ONEHOPE Foundation. Today, I am proud to serve as the foundation’s executive director. We’ve made contributions to more than 30,000 local nonprofits more than $8 million in the past 14 years. Beyond this, I also volunteer as a youth volleyball coach, with my daughters’ local Girl Scout  troops and proudly serve on the board of the Scottsdale Unified School District Foundation.

Share with us why you give back: I vividly remember my first volunteer activity as a child. My second grade Brownie Girl Scout troop decorated Valentine’s Day cards and delivered them to a local Scottsdale nursing home. I’ll never forget the smiles on their faces, and the way it made me feel. Since then, I’ve always made it a priority to give back however I can. Businesses have a tremendous opportunity to improve the world on a grand scale. When we launched ONEHOPE, we knew that a great bottle of wine is a powerful product, it truly brings people together.

Tell us about one nonprofit you support and why: The Scottsdale Unified School District Foundation. I’m an SUSD graduate (Cochise, Cocopah, Chaparral), my mom and sister both worked for SUSD 15-plus years, and now my children both attend SUSD schools. I proudly serve on the SUSD Foundation board to support education excellence in Scottsdale.
