What do you do: I am the CEO and founder of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels, a nonprofit, support and educational organization designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, tax-exempt organization, founded in 2012 in celebration of Amanda Hope’s life. The mission of my organization is to bring dignity and comfort into the harsh world of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases and to help other families that are going through what I went through when Amanda was battling.

Share with us how you give back: My team and I serve around 2,000 families each year in the Greater Phoenix community. We do so through the Amanda Hope programs including free counseling, financial assistance, adaptive medical apparel, and hosting family events to lessen the physical and emotional burden of cancer treatment on children.

In addition, I am passionate about empowering moms and dads to have a voice during their child’s treatment. Advocacy is something that drives me when I am creating new programs at Amanda Hope. This is because I want parents and warriors to know all of their options and to be comfortable in their decisions. Cancer takes away every ounce of control so l try to give it back to the families.

Share with us why you give back: Amanda is my reason! In her honor, we are carrying out her legacy through giving back to other children just like her. I feel so honored to help others who are in the same boat my family was during Amanda’s journey.

Tell us about one nonprofit you support and why: Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels is my heart and soul. All that I am is in Amanda Hope. Helping the pediatric cancer community is my reason for getting up in the morning.
