Fred Bueler III

What do you do: I am the vice president of CHASSE Building Team, a locally owned business that has grown from a handful of industry veterans on a mission – to be built different, on purpose – to one of the Southwest’s preeminent general contractors overseeing more than $425 million in construction projects across Arizona annually in the areas of K-12 education, higher education, multifamily, municipal, commercial, healthcare and nonprofit.

Share with us how you give back: I’m an active member of the Scottsdale Charros and serve as the 2022 Baseball Chairman for the Spring Training at Scottsdale Stadium, home of the San Francisco Giants. We focus on giving back to our community, supporting local nonprofits and supporting Scottsdale Unified School District. We do this through a variety of annual fundraising efforts, the most significant source being the Charro Lodge at Spring Training, a partnership that dates back to 1961. I volunteered for several years with the Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club, at one point chairing both Brokers for Kids and Agents Benefitting Children, two of the organizations biggest events.

Beyond even this, I am also actively involved in one of CHASSE’s biggest philanthropic programs in CHASSE STEM. To enhance the construction process on school campuses where we are working, we engage the actual students through our own program; I serve as the volunteer chair. Through it, we provide hands-on learning and workshops that allow students to learn about the construction process and learn about the different career paths the construction industry offers. For example, for an entire school year, we held school-wide student assemblies on campus at Frank Elementary School to introduce students to topics like construction and STEM. The presentations talked about all the different components that make-up a construction site. We talked about surveying, concrete, masonry, roofers, electricians and so much more. Students also learned all about safety on projects sites, especially on their school campus. The kids, in fact, even had a hand in designing some of the elements on campus, including the outdoor amphitheater and outdoor learning spaces! Finally, I work with our executive team on an extensive giving program, mostly focused to funding children-focused programs across Arizona. To date, we have donated more than $4 million statewide.

Share with us why you give back: My desire to give back stems from a few areas. First and foremost, I was raised by parents who always provided me with great opportunities, that gave back themselves to their own community and have always the role models to supporting those around you. For me personally, I have always been fortunate with the opportunities in life that I was provided, from every aspect of my family, friends and professional career. Being able to return that to the community, by giving back, supporting local charities, and overall trying to help be a small piece of bettering the community is important to me.

Tell us about one nonprofit you support and why: The Scottsdale Charros is the one I provide the most support, time and commitment to, so certainly them. Our focus is supporting Scottsdale Unified School District as well as gifting out funds to over two dozen charities annually and supporting the history and betterment of the city.
