Hometown: Minnetonka, Minnesota

First job: My first job was at GNC and it really put a lot of work ethic into me. It showed me that no two people are the same and everybody wants something different. Everyone’s body responds to things differently – and that applies to a lot of the things I do today. Everybody’s body responds differently to CoolSculpting treatments. Everybody needs a different treatment paradigm. No two patients are alike in any way, shape or form.

Favorite AZ restaurant: Jalepeño Inferno. It’s kind of like family to me. Great service, good food. They’re consistent. That’s my spot.

Person who has impacted your life the most: I would say the person that has impacted my life the most is my grandfather, Tom Redmond. He pretty much wrote the book on, “Never give up, don’t quit – let them kick you out before you get out.” It’s helped me in every way, shape or form. You look at a situation and you come up with a solution. Instead of giving up or moving on to the next thing, it really makes you hone in and say, “I’m gonna do this.”

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Opening up this practice and not listening to all the people that told me, “No, you can’t do that – that’s impossible.” The best part – seeing the look on their faces when it happened. In my opinion, when you open up your own business and you listen to other people’s doubts, they will unload on you because they know in their hearts of hearts they’re too scared to do it themselves.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: The biggest obstacle I’ve ever had to overcome was listening to other people’s doubt and pushing through because I’m the kind of person that… I know I’m going to do it anyway.

Someone who inspires you: I would say the person that inspires me the most in my life is my middle brother, my brother Matthew. He has twins (one of them is a special needs child). He recently opened up his own branch in the mortgage world and it gave me a ton of inspiration because he left the standard nine to five where he knew what he was going to get paid. He took that big risk, had everything to lose and a family that needed his support.

Favorite quote: My favorite quote comes from Steve Jobs. It’s “Don’t waste your time living somebody else’s life plan.”

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: My advice for somebody that wants to get into this line of work or to open up your own business would be to not listen to anybody but yourself and your own heart. Why? Because in the end, it’s the Steve Jobs and the Richard Bransons of the world [that follow their heart and make a big impact] – everybody told them they couldn’t do something and look at them now.

What makes someone fabulous: To me, what makes someone fabulous is the spirit to continue on when everybody else says there’s absolutely no way – the grit, the getting up at 5:00 AM, and doing what other people aren’t willing to do. The biggest thing to me is leaving your comfort zone.
