Hometown: Freehold, NJ
First job: The Gap during the holiday season during my sophomore year of high school. Phew – lots of respect for those who work in retail, especially during the holidays!
Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: Anything outdoors! I love hiking our state’s peaks and trails, camping on the weekends, exploring our fabulous food scene and taking boutique fitness classes, of course.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Taking the leap and finally opening Body Politik studio. It had been a dream of mine ever since becoming a fitness professional years ago; however, for a long time, I made many excuses for why I couldn’t do it. Being here today, I feel so fulfilled and accomplished sharing my passion and pursuing a path that truly sets me on fire.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: Starting a fitness studio during a pandemic. Many people told me I was crazy to consider it while the world was shut down and there was so much uncertainty. Deep down, I knew that the timing was right- the challenge was convincing others.
Someone who inspires you and why: All of the clients that I have worked with throughout the years. Seeing so many people on different stages of their fitness journey, their commitment to their health and showing up for themselves is truly inspiring. There is something truly uplifting about moving together with others.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Understand your why. As fitness professionals, we are in the business of taking care of others. There is no room for your ego; set it aside.
Favorite quote: “When your why is strong enough, your how becomes easy.”
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I was an attorney in a former life. I went to law school and passed the bar in two states. That is part of the reason why I chose the name Body Politik for the studio. It’s a legal word and means a group of people working together toward a common goal.
What makes someone fabulous: Hard work and kindness.
