Hometown: New York City, NY

First job: My first job in high school was customer service at Delia’s Cleaners, a local dry cleaner with several locations in Arizona. This was an excellent opportunity to learn customer service skills, time management and business skills.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: I love spending time outside. In the summer months, swimming is an almost daily activity. In the cooler months, taking long walks, hikes and golfing are great ways to spend time with family outdoors. Year-round, I also enjoy indoor cycling.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Personally, my biggest accomplishment and what I’m most proud of is my daughter. She brings such joy and has a personality that makes every day so unique. Professionally, my biggest accomplishment has been growing my inbound marketing agency. I started the agency at a relatively young age, and we have seen tremendous growth year over year. In addition, I am incredibly proud of writing a book dedicated to inbound marketing called Mastering Inbound Marketing: Your Complete Guide to Building a Results-Driven Inbound Strategy. It took about three years to write this book because I wanted to make sure it captured every aspect of the inbound marketing methodology for business owners and marketers to maximize their inbound marketing program.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: The biggest obstacle for me was overcoming the doubt of others when I first started my business. My family was incredibly supportive, but I know that others doubted me because of my age and, frankly, being a female in a relatively male-dominated industry. While marketing is female-driven, the agency space is heavily skewed male. Through lots of hard work, dedication, perseverance and creativity, I was able to overcome the limiting beliefs of others and grow the agency to where it is today.

Someone who inspires you and why: My grandmother has always been incredibly inspiring to me. She was the first woman in our family to go to college, and she earned her degree in Chemistry, which was unheard of at the time. From there, she was a teacher and was beloved by so many of her students. Perhaps the most inspiring thing, though, was that she raised three children on her own after her husband passed away at a very young age. Now that I’m a mother, I have a much deeper understanding of just how difficult this must have been for her.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Always keep learning and stay on top of the latest industry trends and insights. Marketing is constantly changing and, being the best in this industry, you need to be aware of new technology, new trends and new strategies that may benefit the company you work for or your clients. Subscribe to blogs, podcasts and consider continuing education to differentiate yourself.

Favorite quote: “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: My favorite artist is Eminem. I feel like his lyrics all have a unique purpose and a mission. Some people think his lyrics are dark, but he has plenty of funny and entertaining tracks, too, and it seems he has a song based on whatever emotion you may be feeling at that moment.

What makes someone fabulous: Someone’s ability to connect with others makes someone fabulous. When someone can truly listen, understand and connect with others, it can expand their relationship with that person and how they can support them in their journey.
