Hometown: Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Moved to Scottsdale January 1989)

First job: When I was about 6 years old, I sold day-old Penny Saver newspapers door-to-door in the neighborhood. Nobody needed a day-old Penny Saver (they were always free in the store anyway), but people bought them because they saw I was determined and it was the only way to get me to stop knocking on their door.

Favorite AZ restaurant: So many choices, depends on the day and the occasion but a few of my go to places: Local Bistro, Sumo Maya, Breakfast Kitchen Bar and AZ 88. Each have great food, local vibe and diverse menus. I lean toward supporting locally-owned restaurants.

Person who has impacted your life the most: My parents have impacted my life the most; they instilled values and hard work in me at a young age.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Personally- I am blessed to be the father of 2 amazing teenage daughters (Lauren – 18, Olivia – 15). They make me proud everyday. Professionally- Creating a world-class real estate experience for my clients while delivering the best financial outcome possible to them.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: I’ve been blessed with great health, family, friends and opportunities… I don’t see obstacles, I see opportunities.

Someone who inspires you: I am inspired by all entrepreneurs who work hard, give back to their communities while surrounding themselves with family and friends.

Favorite quote: “Get Busy Living… or Get Busy Dying”

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Focus on what is in the best interest of your client at all times, without exception. Become an expert negotiator for your clients. Understand the numbers. Be prepared to work hard, be very well prepared, do your homework, and reach out to your sphere of influence for connections and strategic referral networks. Most of all, listen and adapt to your client’s agenda. Think outside the box, be different!

What makes someone fabulous: Well-rounded (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually), successful, committed business and family man or woman who gives back to their community.

  1. This guy exemplifies the reason why some people don’t like real estate agents: seemingly competent and likeable at first. After signing a contract with him my life became a nightmare, the worst mistake of my life. Dishonest, rude, and incredibly shady….
