Hometown: Minneapolis, MN.

First job: I worked in a croissant shop in Chicago.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: I enjoy being outdoors, listening to birds, traveling around the state and listening to local bands.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Finishing college when I was 46. I had a few credits left and when my first daughter went to college in 2016, I decided to go back and finish my degree. I am also proud of my four beautiful children (Kaitlyn, Avery, Megan and Grant) and for helping open a Gigi’s Playhouse, a Down Syndrome achievement center, in Phoenix.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Navigating being a new parent when my first child, Kaitlyn, was born with Down Syndrome.

Someone who inspires you and why: Kaitlyn Gage. Without her, I wouldn’t be who I am today.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Don’t overthink everything. Use your resources, ask lots of questions and read tons of books.

Favorite quote: “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” —Henry Ford

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I am the Tequila Ambassador.

What makes someone fabulous: Humility and joyful curiosity about the world around them.
