Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: My favorite way to spend my free time in Arizona is exploring the Valley, looking for hidden-gem restaurants to try.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: I would have to say that my biggest accomplishment was making it to the NFL because of the very small percentage of individuals who have that opportunity.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: I suffered a significant knee injury back in August of 2018 that ended my NFL career and, in turn, led me through a bout with depression. Once I came to terms with the fact that while I couldn’t control the event that had already taken place, I had full control over how I responded to it. This tragedy was the catalyst behind the business, Kaizen Health and Wellness.
Someone who inspires you and why: Former University of Tennessee football star, Inky Johnson, is someone who inspires me. Everything in his life was beginning to align for him to have a successful career in professional football but then a life-threatening injury derailed those plans. Despite the constant physical challenges faced every day with having a paralyzed right arm, Inky’s relentless determination has allowed him to become arguably one of the country’s most-known motivational speakers.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Never quit your day dream. There will be times when the task at hand seems rather impossible, but stay the course. You never want to wake up one day and wonder, “What if…”
Favorite quote: “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.”
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I love to cook and bake.
What makes someone fabulous: Someone who is fabulous begins each and every day with a positive mindset to make that day the best day yet. In the face of adversity, they still manage to weather the storm. They are a beacon of light uplifting others with their radiance and grace.
