Hometown: Boston, MA

First job: Selling homemade scrunchies at the local toy shop in my town.Ā I remember making enough profit to buy a TV for my bedroom.

Favorite way to spend free time in AZ: I am new-ish to AZ, and I love exploring all of the different cities, towns and sites. So far, we’ve seen Prescott, Pinetop, Sedona, Page and Flag. They’re all special in their own ways.

Person who has impacted your life the most and why: Hard to pick just one, but I’ve been very fortunate to have some pretty incredible female bosses and mentors throughout my career.Ā There are two, in particular, that I had the opportunity to work for in NYC. These women taught me what being a strong, kind and effective leader looks like.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes and why: Moving to New York City post-college, finding my footing and surviving/thriving. I led a pretty safe and sheltered life, always hovering close to home, up until that point. Being alone in a new city, NYC nonetheless, taught me that I could do anything with some gusto and a good attitude. I’ve been able to take that spirit and apply it in many other areas of my life.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Sitting in discomfort for a bit and pivoting my business during COVID. I moved to Arizona from NYC in late 2019 with the intention of opening an indoor running studio.Ā COVID had other plans.Ā Instead of spiraling (I wanted to!), I just sat in the discomfort of not knowing my next step. In that space, I was able to think about what people needed and how I could serve my community.Ā HUSTLE House was built shortly after.

Someone who inspires you and why: My mom. She worked a full-time job, went to school part-time, took care of my brother and I and showed up 24/7 when we were little.Ā There is no way that was easy for her, and I think watching her persevere in those moments inspired a lot of grit in myself.

Favorite quote: “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” -Anais Nin

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Keep going, especially when the finish line is in sight; do more listening than talking; ask for help; recognize who helped you along the way; and give that back and more.

What you think makes someone fabulous: Finding your passion and pursuing it.
