Who is Kevin Danzeisen?
Kevin Danzeisen is the owner of Danzeisen Dairy, which is a local family farm that has been operating only 10 miles from downtown Phoenix, Arizona for over 50 years.
What is Kevin Danzeisen’s story?
While Kevin calls Phoenix his true home, he was born in Valparaiso, Indiana. He loved coming to Arizona as a kid and those visits are what made him love cows and Arizona. Kevin is one of 52 grandchildren and is the oldest of 4 siblings.
His family moved to central California, right in the middle of dairy country, when he was in 4th grade. Kevin started working on dairies and raised his own calves in Junior High and High School. He continued to work on dairies while attending Fresno State University, studying animal science with an emphasis on dairy.
In January of 2000, Kevin moved to Arizona to run the dairy for his Grandma. Then in 2002, Kevin and his dad bought the dairies and renamed them to “Danzeisen Dairy.” Two years later, Kevin married his wife, Melanie, and they now have 3 beautiful kids: Caleb (9), Jenna (8) and Nate (6).
Kevin says they knew their milk was the best out there, so on November 1, 2014, they opened their own creamery and started bottling their own milk – the old school glass bottles they use are something people love.
“I am proud to be an Arizonan,” Kevin says. “I am living in the best town, in the best state, in the best country! It doesn’t get any better than that.”
Kevin Danzeisen’s future dream?
“For my children to be successful adults who want to help others, continue to believe in the works of God and teaching their kids to do the same.”
What makes Kevin Danzeisen fabulous?
When we asked Kevin what he believes makes someone “fabulous,” he told us “being humble, working hard, staying focus and self sacrificing.” Even though says these are all things he feels he needs to work on, we would have to argue that Danzeisen Dairy surely wouldn’t be so successful if he didn’t already almost master those qualities. Danzeisen Dairy is the kind of local business we all love to support, and they give back to the community in return. One of their recent charitable efforts was donating a portion of the proceeds of their products sold to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
