Hometown: Gilbert, AZ.

First job: My first job was at a local shaved ice company called Bahama Bucks.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: I am genuinely grateful to say that my favorite hobby is also my profession. When I’m not performing at a show with my band, I spend my time writing music, designing merch, creating content for social media, and jamming with other local musicians.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Being able to pay rent and put food on my plate by doing what I love is my biggest accomplishment. Majority of people spend most of their time at work, and it hurts me to see some folks unhappy at their workplace. It’s easier said than done in the world we live in, but I’d like to inspire some risk to find happiness.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: The biggest obstacle I overcame was discovering my confidence and self-worth. This journey took many years, and it’s still something I remind myself to work on every day. I believe that pursuing this type of career requires having thick skin and a strong sense of self.

Someone who inspires you and why: I am extremely inspired by my mother and her resilience. She has been kicked down so many times but always gets up. She was dealt a heavy hand in life, but she never made it anyone’s problem and kept truckin’ along. My mom is living proof that no matter how deep you’ve dug yourself while people are trying to pack more dirt on you, you can find a way out through perseverance (and a shovel).

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Don’t try to conform to what’s popular or what you hear on the radio if it doesn’t represent who you truly are. Stay persistent—keep reaching out to that booking agent, attend live jam sessions, and make friends with others who share your passion.

Favorite quote: “Look at you here despite it all.” – Rupi Kaur

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: That I have seven amazing siblings.

What makes someone fabulous: You are fabulous to me if you don’t judge someone by race, gender, sexuality, political stance, hobbies, or background.
