Fabulous People: Linda Nash

Linda Nash is the co-owner of L&S Culinary Concepts and Barrio Queen, which dishes up from-scratch Mexican fare at six successful restaurants throughout the Valley. Learn about Linda Nash…

First job: Deli.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: Hiking, biking, eating out and talking with other business owners.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Taking care of my aging parents in their elder years until they both passed at 91. I have nine siblings and it was easy to get lost in the shuffle, but they made all of us feel special. They gave me a great vision for life and for being a female in business. They said work and life can be hard sometimes, but they taught me how to get up and keep going if I got knocked down.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: I had an investment fail in my 20’s. It was a very big lesson to respect the dollar and not think of it as an endless supply.

Someone who inspires you and why: There are many. My mother as she was a good business person; that’s where I learned my foundation. Charlie Francisco of Solon, Ohio; he was the president of the company I worked for and my boss. He was such a good mentor and taught me how to be a good leader.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Listen to others who have already been there. Share your ideas and never think you have all the answers. Listen to the people you hire; you hired them for a reason.

Favorite quote: “Don’t worry, be happy. “ Although not a quote, I have too many I love so this says it all.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I was an adrenalin junkie when I was young. I did extreme sports, motorcycle racing, mountain biking, repelling, skydiving, you name it.

What makes someone fabulous: How they carry themselves and how they treat others. It takes a special person to be kind.
