Learn more about Lindsey…

Hometown: Las Vegas, NV but I was born in Minnesota… and will always be a Midwest girl at heart.

First job: I worked as a cashier at a Chevrolet dealership. My dad got me the job, he has worked in dealerships and automotive for years. I had just graduated high school, and I thought I was so cool just to say “I had to go to work” haha.

Favorite AZ restaurant: Oh this is a tough one because there are so many… I am a morning person, I love a good breakfast so I have to say my favorite breakfast spot would be Daily Dose. It is walking distance from my condo and during football season they always put on the Vikings game for me, and save me a seat at the bar. Besides that, I am really digging the new Hand Cut Burgers & Chop House. I had my birthday party there and not only did they do a great job, but the food was delicious. I highly recommend the filet!

Person who has impacted your life the most: My family. I know that’s multiple people but I can’t pick just one. I come from the hardest working, kindest, most down to earth and loving family. I am deeply blessed beyond measure. My parents have both been perfect examples of hard work. No matter what they keep going. They have shown me what it is to be a true leader, to persevere, to run the show, but to do it with kindness and grace, and to keep my faith at the forefront of my life. I am who I am today because of my family.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Starting my business, Fit Happy Girl. It has become my biggest passion and greatest accomplishment. Every day I watch it grow into a bigger network of women, and a place they come to better themselves: mind, body and spirit. I have seen so many women transform into a whole new person inside and out, and there is nothing more rewarding than that. I am so proud of it and all of them.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Years ago, I lost everything, down to every last penny and my home went into foreclosure. I was very lost and living a life far less than the one I was capable of in Las Vegas. My life finally hit a breaking point and I knew I had to pull myself out of this dark place. I started by going to the gym. It was so hard for me, I was overweight and out of shape, but I just kept at it. Every year I got more into living a healthy lifestyle and finally got my personal training certification. I had amazing clients in Las Vegas but desperately needed to escape that city and do some soul searching. I moved to Scottsdale on my 30th birthday. I barely had any clients so I was a waitress at night as I built up my clientele. I also trained for my first fitness competition at the same time. I struggled so much, far more than I ever let on to anyone. I sold things, and worked 14-16 hour days because I knew one day it would pay off. Now here I am living a life I love, and one I am proud of… and I can say I built it myself, I earned it. Never give up on your dream, no matter how hard you have to work. It will pay off.

Someone who inspires you: My clients!! It is hard for me to call them “clients”, because these women are my friends. Every day I wake up and get to do what I love because of them. They’ve all had different struggles and stories, I have heard so many painful ones. For them to then decide to make a change in their lives, to better themselves, and decide it is time to feel better: more fit, happy, healthy and confident despite everything else – that is so inspiring and just makes me want to always do better and be who they need me to be and more!

Favorite quote: “I have never met a woman who is not strong. They don’t exist.” – Diane Von Furstenberg … I mean isn’t it the truth? I have met so many incredible women doing what I do and all of them have a story. That’s why it is so important to never judge someone’s outward appearance, we don’t know the battles they’ve faced.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Be authentic. Develop a brand around who and what you represent and don’t be ashamed of it. Just do your thing and “your people” will follow. Not every client will be for you and that’s okay. I decided to develop a niche market, and just work with women. I think that’s important – to know who your target market is, to put everything into helping people and most importantly to do it from the heart.

What makes someone fabulous: Totally 100% owning who YOU are really makes someone fabulous. In our world we have so many opportunities to compare ourselves to others. I think falling in love with yourself, and all your amazing qualities is so important and is something we can all get better at. We have to stop comparing and picking ourselves apart, we are special and unique. Know your worth, stay true to yourself and own it!
