As the President of Avadium Design, a product design and branding firm located in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona, we present Mario Esquer as this weeks Fabulous People.
First job: My first job was cashiering for Walgreens Drug Stores. It was a good first job that taught me how to run a retail store. I was promoted shortly after hire to management allowing me insight into running a business.
Favorite AZ restaurant: We enjoy many local family restaurants in the area. For Italian, we prefer That’s Amore Gelato. When we go out for Mexican food, we enjoy Frank & Lupe’s Old Mexico. When we are watching a game, we like K O’Donnell’s Sports Bar & Grill. Other restaurants include Market Street Kitchen and The Vig.
Person who has impacted your life the most: My wife has made a big impact on my life. She is a big motivator achieving greater things and to stay focused. She is always there as my best friend and biggest supporter.
Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: My biggest accomplishment was making the 35 Entrepreneurs under 35 list. It was an inspiring moment in my career. That was a launching point for me and I know my biggest accomplishments are yet to come.
The biggest obstacle you have overcome: The biggest obstacle that I had to overcome is learning how to grow the design business. Every year we work hard to improve our company sales and find new ways to improve the business.
Someone who inspires you: I am inspired by Jonathan Ive. As the head of design for Apple, Jonathan Ive has designed all of the iconic Apple products that people love. He has a great sense of design and creating products that increase the business.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: The best advice for any entrepreneur is to keep at it. You need a passion for what you do to succeed. Always surround yourself with smart thriving people who believe in you and want you to succeed.
What you think makes someone fabulous: I feel what makes someone a fabulous person is how they inspire others to be great at what they do by showing positive leadership qualities and knowing how to be a genuinely friendly person.
