Fabulous People: Mark Bonnett

Arizona native Mark Bonnett is the CEO of Scottsdale-based CorePath Wealth Partners. “We empower those who want to take their financial situation to the next level,” he says. Learn about Mark Bonnett…

Hometown: Born in Flagstaff, went to UofA for undergrad and then to Scottsdale for the past two and a half decades.

First job: Front desk at Phoenix Airport Hilton.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: Boating on Lake Powell.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: I am most proud of my two amazing daughters. Being a parent is one of the most challenging and most rewarding jobs out there. Making that important role your focus can assure you maximize your impact and legacy beyond all else.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Starting in business is never easy. I vividly remember a broken-down car, mounds of credit card debt, not knowing where the next rent check will come. Overcoming the distractions of everyday life and staying positive is my quintessential example of using adversity to motivate and propel forward each and every day.

Someone who inspires you and why: My father. He dedicated his life and made many personal sacrifices to provide for his family. He led by example, demonstrated work ethic and integrity and a mentality of never giving up. Even now when his health is catching up with him, he still pushes each and every day to help those around him and support and help those loves. My dad truly is a servant and a leader.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Integrity, above even tenacity and patience, are required when you are looking to truly serve others.

Favorite quote: “Obstacles are the things we encounter when we lose sight of our goals.”

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: Travel is not only important to me; it is my life blood. I have been blessed to speak and deliver keynote presentations in six different countries across the world. I learn more from my experiences with other cultures and viewpoints than I could ever hope to deliver on stage.

What makes someone fabulous: A solid understanding and commitment to you are, at your core. Accepting others for what is important to them, and helping those people on their journey to what matters most to them.
