Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ

First job: A hostess at Uno’s Pizzeria for about 3 weeks. I had my friend quit for me because I did not like being scheduled on the weekend or having to wear closed toe shoes. My parents were livid and I had to go in and apologize for quitting so unprofessionally. That was my first and last time working in the food industry.

Favorite AZ restaurant: City Hall, I am obsessed with their butter cake as well as their service. Mastro’s in general knows how to find the best employees but I just love how they are so kind, knowledgeable and want to make you happy.

Person who has impacted your life the most: My husband Sean. He came into my life when I needed stability more than I realized at the time. Sean has helped me believe in myself and helped me see I could run a business and be my own boss.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Starting the Pearce Family Foundation is my biggest accomplishment. I was so scared when I started the foundation and did not know how it was going to turn out and today we have given back close to $100,000 to our community. I am scared every day that I am going to fail but that is what keeps me going and pushes me to continue fighting for my nonprofit.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Believing in myself. I was in a few situations after college where I worked for companies I wasn’t appreciated and looked at only for my outside appearance versus what I could bring to the table. It took a while for me to gain the confidence I needed to create a business I was proud of and to find my voice.

Someone who inspires you: My aunt Charlene, she is an independent woman who is adventurous and lives every day to the fullest. She has been living in Puerto Penasco Mexico for the last 20 years, and doesn’t let the fear of what might happen overcome her. I admire her ability to live the life she wants even if it is not by the “book”. My aunt has the most interesting life who is still traveling to this day even in her mid 70’s and who is wanting to try new things. I hope one day to live in a foreign country like she does and if my family wants to see me then they have to step outside of their comfort zone to visit me.

Favorite quote: “The service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth”- Muhammad Ali

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Never give up and even if it seems like a lot of steps or work, it is worth it. If I would’ve listened to all of the people who told me it is too hard and I could not do it, I would not be where I am today.

What you think makes someone fabulous: I think being fabulous means both looking great and feeling great. There are so many “beautiful” people but as soon as you speak to them or work with them they are horrible. Looks will fade but your personality and how you treat someone will always be remembered. Anyone can be fabulous, it is really about how you make someone feel! So hold that door open for a stranger and smile at the checkout lady- you never know who needs that extra sparkle!
