Hometown: Tekoa, a small, quaint Eastern Washington town

First job: My first job had me bucking nails and working harvest. I was 15 and very small, but I promised the team I would keep up if they gave me a chance. Looking back, I don’t think I kept up at first, but they saw how hard I worked and let me come back. After a few days, I learned the ropes and was able to keep up with the best of them.

Favorite AZ restaurant: It’s difficult to have favorites when it comes to food because it all depends on my mood. My favorite cheesesteak is from Mike’s Burgers & Cheesesteaks in Gilbert. The best tortillas I’ve had are from Carolina’s Mexican Food. And, my favorite pizza is by far from Casanova Brothers Pizza.

Person who has impacted your life the most: My dad had both a negative and positive impact on me. He taught me to be level headed and focus on what’s most important. For him, his family was most important. No one is more successful than he is in regards to putting his family first. On the other side, he struggled professionally and financially, which I noticed. It helped me understand that I needed to make sure I always aim to do better in my career.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Being a father to four girls who all still love me. That is next to impossible!

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: For me it’s been making personal sacrifices to grow a business. During a time when the rest of the world was living beyond their means and taking what they wanted, I did without having a steady paycheck to make my business grow.

Someone who inspires you: Barry Sanders: The best running back of all time, but he never sought the spot light.

Favorite quote: A pessimist is always right or pleasantly surprised!

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Learn from those before you. Be humble and accept help. Don’t get greedy!

What makes someone fabulous: Integrity and loyalty.
