Hometown: Born and raised in Safford, AZ.
First job: Waitress at Golden Corral.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: Hiking, gardening, swimming, and spending time outdoors.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: I am a mother to five children who are all incredible, hard-working, thoughtful, and kind. Raising children is one of the hardest things I have ever done and continue to do. Seeing them grow up, move out, pursue education and careers, and live their own lives positively and productively in the world is truly incredible.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: My middle child was born with a life-limiting disorder called MPS II. Learning that I don’t have control but still choose to live and love despite extremely difficult life challenges is one of the greatest blessings I have learned from his diagnosis.
Someone who inspires you and why: I know this sounds cheesy, but my husband. He is truly a great man. He is honest, humble, confident, intelligent, ambitious, considerate, selfless, and not only my cheerleader but also my greatest supporter. And, of course, incredibly handsome!
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Find a mentor who will give help honestly and freely. I’m grateful for the mentors who have and continue to help me.
Favorite quote: “You can do hard things.”
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I have lived in Arizona my entire life and have never been to the Grand Canyon.
What makes someone fabulous: Having a heart of gold. There are plenty of beautiful, fabulous people, but having hearts full of goodness and charity makes them fabulous.
