Hometown: Silverton, Oregon.
First job: My first job was sweeping hair and sanitizing brushes at The Hair Hut in sixth grade.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: I enjoy playing sand volleyball, kayaking, attending sporting events, and having weekly discussions with amazing people from the sports world on my podcast.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Personally, I am most proud of building an incredible life full of people I love. Professionally, I am most proud of creating a podcast from the ground up where I can amplify stories like those of the athletes with United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: I think that for most of us, the biggest obstacles come in the form of not a single event but the necessity to continue working towards our goals day after day when things feel hard. I was so impressed when I interviewed teen athlete Charlie Duffy, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was 3 years old. She explained that because of her cerebral palsy, she had to work twice as hard as her teammates every single day, yet she persevered.
Someone who inspires you and why: I am inspired by people who pursue their passions, work hard, find joy, and lift others up.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Ask questions! Podcasters are incredibly welcoming and supportive, and most are happy to share what they’ve learned with anyone interested in starting a show.
Favorite quote: “At the end of the day, if I can say I had fun, it was a good day.” -Simone Biles
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I was a vice president of national publicity at Walt Disney Studios.
What makes someone fabulous: My favorite people are so comfortable in their skin that they actively and enthusiastically build people up. They are curious and supportive and take joy in seeing other people succeed.
