Hometown: Waldorf, MD

First job: Stock boy at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I didn’t last very long in retail. It wasn’t long before I found more satisfaction in my first personal training internship working for free, lol.

Favorite AZ restaurant: The US Egg. Breakfast is my favorite food group, and their protein pancakes are magical! They keep it simple, and healthy. The service is always timely and super friendly. It is literally like the “Cheers” of Scottsdale. I recommend it to everyone that comes through CrossFit PHX.

Person who has impacted your life the most: My dad, hands down. The man that taught me how to be a man. I get my entrepreneurial spirit from him. He had this ability to continuously challenge me, and yet still be there to catch me if I fell.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Continually growing the family and network that is CrossFit PHX. This gym as become a haven for people looking to better themselves, through which lifelong relationships have been built.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: I got kicked out of college when I was 20 and it took me a long while to take ownership of that scenario and to use it to empower my growth, rather than hold me back.

Someone who inspires you: My wife, Nicole, who juggles a full time career with raising our two kids and is somehow a rockstar at both. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without her in my corner the whole way.

Favorite quote: “I only got this far because of what I did not know” – Me

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Find someone who has what you want, and figure out what it will take for them to take you under their wing. Then duplicate what they have done.

What makes someone fabulous: I’m really attracted to driven people that continue to progress in life despite their circumstance and/or negative self-talk. I love hanging out with people who’s “Why” is bigger than their excuses.
