Bootlegger’s Modern American Smokehouse, in Old Town Scottsdale, is a smokehouse that takes traditional smokehouse flavors to a whole new, delicious level.
Starting off with appetizers, Fab AZ recommends the bacon board – a giant serving of tenderbelly dry cured apple and cherry wood bacon, boot bacon, jalapeno infused bacon and a house smoked pork belly. So much bacon in one place, and somehow, you find yourself craving more bacon! The next fabulous appetizer to try is the nacho flat. The nacho flat is a smokehouse twist on your traditional nachos. Chips topped with chopped brisket hash, chipotle cheddar sauce, jalapeños and an avocado relish.
Heading into the entrée’s, Fab AZ was excited to see what the rest of the menu held, because the appetizers were so good. If you are looking for something smaller, go for the classic burger, served on a pretzel bun! Anything on a pretzel bun is amazing. If you are looking for something bigger, try the BBQ sampler, a huge mix of brisket, pork, hot links, turkey and ribs! The best of the BBQ world.
For dessert we tried the cherry pie milkshake, served in a cute little mason jar! This delicious mix of grandmas pie crust, luxardo cherries and vanilla ice cream is the best way to end this meal.
And, while you are dining, try their home-brewed apple pie moonshine! So sweet and so good, you will forget your drinking moonshine!
