Restaurant of the Week: The Toasted Cork

The Toasted Cork, a new modern American wine bar in Old Town Scottsdale, serves gourmet-grilled cheeses, small plates, wine and craft beer.

We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the restaurant to find a subtly lit dining room with sparkling chandeliers and rotating art installations. Very reminiscent of a New York wine bar, which is no surprise considering the Operator of The Toasted Cork, Michael Stein, moved from New York to open this restaurant.

The menu changes seasonally, featuring small bites and 7 different gourmet grilled cheese sandwich options. Some of our favorite food items were the Avocado Toast Bites, the Gobble, Gobble Grilled Cheese, and The Dutch Grilled Cheese.

The beverage selections are seasonal as well, offering some of the best wines, beers and cocktails at approachable prices. The most expensive drink on the menu, however, is Budweiser for $40… a clear deterrent for ordering that over the hand picked craft beers on the menu. We like their style.

Last, but not least, one of our favorite parts of the restaurant was the patio on the second floor with it’s own bar and a sunset view.
