Restaurant of the Week: Creamistry

Some may say an ice cream shop isn’t a restaurant, but since we would skip dinner for dessert, we think the first Arizona Creamistry location at Scottsdale Waterfront is worthy of a restaurant of the week feature.

Two valley entrepreneurs, former Arizona Cardinal and co-founder of Impact Church Andre Wadsworth and real estate expert Ryan Zeleznak have joined forces to open over 20 locations of the California-based franchise over the next five years.

The first location at the Scottsdale Waterfront is now open. Location two will be at Uptown Plaza at Central and Camelback, and the third location will be at Scottsdale Quarter in North Scottsdale.

This made-to-order ice cream shop uses liquid nitrogen to make fresh, customized ice cream creations on the spot. First, you select a size, which could be put into a cone, waffle bowl, shake, float and more. Second, you choose your ice cream base (including premium, organic, Greek yogurt, non-dairy, vegan and gluten free options including sorbet and coconut milk). Next, you select a flavor from their list of nearly 40 flavors. We personally tried the cookies and cream. Since the ice cream is made from scratch when you order it, the chocolate cookies are still crispy when you get your ice cream. Finally, you pick your toppings, which include candy, fruit, nuts, cookies and more.

Aside from being super yummy, the mixing process is fun to watch too! Definitely something the kiddos will enjoy, watching the liquid nitrogen create their dessert right before their eyes.

Here is a great video from their Orange County location:

Creamistry is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
