Char Kitchen and Bar is a new neighborhood spot located in the Hilton Village shopping center in Scottsdale. This restaurant offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine, with the owners originating from Montenegro. We had the pleasure of sampling their menu, and it left us looking forward to going back!
Before going, make sure you have room and time to sample plenty of the menu. You will not be disappointed. Some of our favorite starters were the Chicken Lollis, with a pomegranate harissa bbq sauce, crumbled feta, cilantro, lime wedge and pickled onion. These little lollis packed a mouthful of flavor, with a little pinch of heat. We also sampled the Choban Lamb Burger, made with grass fed lamb, charred tomato chutney and crumbled feta. We liked the lamb flavor combination with the tomato chutney. Not your basic burger.
For the main course we tried the Grilled Pork Chop served with red wine reduction sauce, cherries and seared cabbage and crispy potatoes. The pork was cooked perfectly, full of flavor and left us all raving about it. We also sampled the steak and chicken skewers served with basmati rice, which were excellent.
No meal is really complete without a dessert, and we got to try the Chocolate Mocha Hazelnut Cake. The warm cake with the gooey hazelnut middle was a delicious medley of chocolate and hazelnut, our two favorite flavors.
