Restaurant of the Week: CRUjiente Tacos

CRUjiente Tacos is a new neighborhood hotspot in Arcadia serving up authentic and delicious street tacos with signature cocktails and carefully-selected beers.

The 2,100 square foot space is intimate with rustic brick walls, reclaimed dark wood accents, and Kelly green seating booths. We also loved how the front of the restaurant has a garage door window that opens up with views of Camelback Mountain.

For starters, you must order the Chips & Guacamole. The fresh tortilla chips are served in a paper bag, just like you would find from a street taco vendor, and the house-made guacamole is nearly impossible to stop eating. The Aguachile is also a great starter, made with New Caledonia prawn, lime, jalapeño, radish, cilantro – it is an explosion of flavor in your mouth.

There are soups and salads to choose from as well – the Sandia, made with watermelon, jalapeño, cotija, arugula and citrus, was delicious!

For tacos, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The combinations that Executive Chef Rich Hinojosa has put together are all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, bold flavors, and more style, texture and variety than traditional street tacos.

Our favorites included the Crunchy Beef, Pork Belly and Korean Fried Chicken. They also have weekly taco specials, so there is always something new to try!
