Restaurant of the Week: Tres Tempe

Tempe’s new dining destination features classic dishes with a modern spin from the Mediterranean and the Southwest. Serving exquisite food in a modern space, energized by the flavors and spices of the food and drinks.

Tres means three, meaning they offer three sizes of plates based on your appetite or occasion: small tasting plates, medium entrée plates and large sharing plates. They also serve artisan meat and cheese boards that you can build yourself.

Their small plate offerings range from fresh and light crispy calamari, that is an absolute must, to a bean hummus made from Arizona native tepary beans. Tres also serves Queen Creek Olive Mill olives, and uses them in several dishes.

The medium entrée plate offerings include the Arizona Harvest Salad, the freshest salad of your dreams. Made with mixed greens, roasted pistachios, apples chevre, citrus, raisins, avocado, and citrus poppy dressing. The citrus mixed with the salty pistachios and avocados is the perfect combination, and a great light entrée.

The large sharing feasts are served family style and our favorite was the Paella Valenciana. Served in a traditional copper pot with shrimp, mussels, lobster, chorizo, chicken and calasparra rice. The presentation sets the stage, and then the lid is opened and you are greeted with a welcoming smell for all the senses. Each bite is fresh, tender and full of flavor continuing the celebration of the senses.

Tres Tempe is on our list of must try spots for an exceptional dining experience of high quality and delicious cuisine. To see more about Tres visit trestempe.com.
