Restaurant of the Week: Parma Italian Roots

Parma Italian Roots, located in North Scottsdale, offers a menu that combines Coastal California style with fine Italian cuisine.

The owner, Tawny Costa, is the ultimate boss babe and has been in the restaurant industry since she was 15 years old. She started as a hostess working her way up in the industry. She fell in love with the industry and it shows. You can often find her alongside her staff hosting, bussing tables, polishing glassware behind the bar and making new friends with guests. You certainly feel part of the family when you are there.

Another thing that sets Parma apart is their pride in using quality ingredients. They only organic Jidori chicken, King Oro Salmon and organic double zero flour in their pies.

You’ll find both classic Italian favorites, as well as unique, fresh dishes. The atmosphere is casual, yet sophisticated, and the menu mimics that same feel.

Start your meal with a selection of snacks and small plates, including house-baked bread (which smells as good as it tastes). We also recommend the Grilled Spanish Octopus, it will melt in your mouth.

You can’t go wrong with any of the pastas. For a great classic, try the Pappardelle Bolognese.

For entrees, Seared Ora King Salmon and Chicken Parmigiana are the best choices. There is also a selection of pizzas.

Be sure to save room for dessert. The Butter Cake and Tiramisu were fabulous.

Parma Italian Roots is open Monday – Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday – Saturday 11am-10pm and Sunday 10am-9pm. Happy Hour is Monday – Friday 3:30pm-6:30pm and brunch is Sundays 10am to 2:30pm.
