Restaurant of the Week: The Giving Tree Cafe

The Giving Tree Cafe, a restaurant serving an organic, vegetarian and gluten-free menu, has opened in downtown Phoenix.

This new restaurant concept was developed by David Warr, the founder and former executive chef of Sedona’s nationally recognized eatery, ChocolaTree.

The Giving Tree Cafe menu items are not only vegetarian and gluten-free, but they also focus on including ingredients that having healing properties. An impressive 99% of the menu is made in-house.

They will offer all-day breakfast that will include homemade banana bread, avocado toast, waffles, as well as a menu full of coffees and lattes crafted with nut milks, a variety of wellness shots, nurturing smoothies, and cold-pressed juices. The cold-press juices, coffees and wellness shots are some of our favorite things on the entire menu. The Lavender Latte is a must-try.

Lunch and dinner offerings will include health conscious variations of  soups, salads and sandwiches. The Buddha Bowl is highly recommended, made with roasted maple acorn squash, turmeric cauliflower, shishito peppers, Brussels sprouts, Bangkok sauce and a choice of wild rice or quinoa. This dish packs in a ton of flavor and has already become a fan favorite. The dinner menu will be accompanied by a selection of wine, beer and cocktails made with high quality ingredients from local purveyors.

In addition to the full-service restaurant, The Giving Tree Cafe will offer grab-and-go items including juices, sandwiches, wraps and desserts.

The Giving Tree Cafe in downtown Phoenix will be open everyday from 10:30am to 9pm, with the takeaway service beginning at 7am on weekdays. For more information about Giving Tree Cafe visit
