While many new restaurants are opening around the Valley, Steak 44 in Phoenix has remained one of the go-to steakhouses for Phoenicians, being named to OpenTable’s 2019 List of the 100 Best Restaurants in America for a Big Night Out (they were the only Valley restaurant to make the prestigious national list!).
Opened in 2014 by brothers Jeffrey and Michael Mastro with their father Dennis and Scott Troilo, Steak 44 is trendy and upscale, while still keeping traditional fine dining elements.
The atmosphere at Steak 44 has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for an intimate, romantic setting or space for larger groups to host friends and family. If you’re looking for a high-energy vibe and make new friends, the vibrant bar area is perfect for that.
The menu at Steak 44 is offers classic steakhouse dishes while including interesting and original additions to complement your meal. Enjoy several options of the best in prime steaks and chops in various portion sizes, along with an array of fresh seafood flown in daily, and a large assortment of chef inspired side dishes and appetizers.
For appetizers, you can order some classics like the Fresh Seafood Tower or Calamari & Shrimp. If you want something more unique, try the Chef’s “PB&J” made with paté, fig jam and woodford reserve bourbon. One of our favorite appetizers is the King Crab & Avocado Stack.
For entrees, we of course highly recommend one of their steaks that are cut in-house daily by their Master Butcher. Top your choice of steak cut with indulgent options such as Black Truffle Sautéed Maine Lobster, Foie Gras or Sautéed Blu Cheese to name a few. There are also a variety of seafood options (you will not be disappointed with the portions), as well as Lamb, Short Rib and Meatloaf.
At Steak 44, we feel the sides are almost as important as the main dish. There are so many delicious ones to choose from, including some of our favorites – the Double Baked Truffle Potato, Alaskan King Crab & Rock Shrimp Mac & Cheese and Corn Crème Brûlée.
After all of that delicious food, try to save room for dessert. The chef has created several decadent options such as the Crispy Banana Split with salted caramel gelato, crispy cinnamon sugar banana and Luxardo whipped cream.
