Restaurant of the Week: Bevvy Uptown

Settled along Phoenix’s restaurant row on Seventh Street is Bevvy Uptown—a swanky gastropub that boasts an extensive food and beverage menu, with everything from refined cocktails to flavorful, handcrafted meals.

The Bevvy concept is centered around genuine hospitality, freshly prepared dishes, and the freedom for guests to unwind in an inviting atmosphere that’s as leisure-oriented as it is indescribably cool.

Every corner of the space is occupied by vintage relics, hip lighting fixtures and spacious booths. The focal point of the interior is the polished bar, where visitors can indulge in happy hour favorites and bar games like skee-ball or shuffleboard.

Plastered across each wall is a lineup of a dozen or so flat-screen TV’s that broadcast live sports all day—and with the NBA leading the charge on COVID-friendly sports seasons, you’ll have even more incentive to visit and catch up on all of the games—while indulging in some of the restaurant’s well-balanced appetizer offerings like the house poppers or 3-Way, of course.

Among some of the other pub grub favorites are the Bevvy burger, the roasted pork green chile taco, and the braised short rib flatbread. Each meal is made even better through Bevvy’s ample beer options and unique cocktails—I humbly recommend the Peep-a-Tini, in particular.

While Bevvy Uptown has helped to elevate the Colony—the cluster of modern shops and bars based in Phoenix that have been developed by LGE Design Build—it’s hardly new to the growing food scene in Arizona.

Bevvy’s first location opened in Old Town Scottsdale, and quickly grew to be a Valley favorite with its warm ambience and wood-paneled interiors.

The Uptown location has managed to maintain the same charm as its predecessor, but with a lot more space for entertaining thanks to the expanded outdoor dining patio.

Bevvy Uptown is open from 11 a.m to 10 p.m. on weekdays, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays.
