Memorial Day Dining in Phoenix

From dining specials and live music to delicious summer cocktails (even some in snow cone form!), these Valley restaurants are ringing in the long Memorial Day weekend with something tasty to look forward to.

Diego Pops in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale is celebrating Memorial Day fiesta-style with a three-day celebration starting May 29 that will include food and drink specials, DJs and live music throughout the day and night. On Monday, May 31, guests can take advantage of Diego Pop’s popular Taco Monday specials with $3 tacos all day and happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. 

The Montauk is taking its weekend brunch into Memorial Day on Monday, May 31, with live music in the morning that will continue into happy hour with a DJ spinning music throughout the night. Brunch items include McMontauk and prime rib breakfast sandwiches, among other breakfast classics.  

The All Night, All Summer Happy Hour returns to Scottsdale’s Roaring Fork restaurant on Memorial Day, which is offered through Labor Day, Sept. 6. Beginning at 4 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, guests can enjoy happy hour pricing in the bar and Saloon on select dishes, like green chili pork, smoked chicken wings and chicken tinga tacos.

Belle’s Nashville Kitchen in Old Town will shake up the holiday weekend with The Smoke Show, a refreshing, easy-sipping cocktail. Belle’s Nashville Kitchen combines Union Mezcal, real passion fruit puree, Torani Almond Orgeat syrup, fresh-squeezed lime juice and hibiscus-infused simple syrup. To finish, the cocktail glass is accented with hibiscus sugar.

Doors open at 11 a.m. at Buck &Rider in Arcadia on Memorial Day, when guests can start enjoying live music (until 2 p.m.), $2 oysters and happy hour drinks in the bar and dining rooms (until 7 p.m.) and delicious brunch faves, in addition to the regular lunch menu. 

Chelsea’s Kitchen will be featuring an additional day of brunch in honor of Memorial Day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. During brunch, enjoy half-off mimosa bottle service specials (options include orange, cranberry and grapefruit). Enjoy the regular dinner menu 3 to 10 p.m. with daily happy hour beverage features.

The Amalfi Spritz

Just in time for the holiday weekend, The Sicilian Butcher has launched a new summer cocktail menu (all drinks are $12). A standout is bold, blue The Amalfi Spritz, with sparkling prosecco, Fiorente Elderflower, Orchard Pear Liqueur, Combier Le Bleu and Mediterranean Tonic Water.

Blue Clover Distillery dishes up three new boozy snow cone cocktails just in time for Memorial Day weekend. The Lucky Lady Dreamsicle features gin, creme de violette elderflower, citrus and whipped cream. The Boozy Bomb Pop features a bottom ICEE layer, whipped cream in the middle, as well as pink lemonade and gin. The top blue layer has creme de violette elderflower, gin and citrus. The Lemon Dropsicle is a classic Lemon Drop made into a snow cone with a whipped cream middle. The drink features the distillery’s handcrafted vodka, fresh-squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup.

The Big Hash Tequila Sunrise at Hash Kitchen is made for two and perfect to celebrate the holiday weekend. Enjoy this chilled cocktail made with 100 percent blue agave tequila, muddled orange and pomegranate grenadine, all served in a 50-oz. fish bowl glass with candy sharks as garnishes.

Watermelon fan? Tarbell’s Slow Rind, Take It Easy is like a refreshing slice in a glass. Fresh watermelon juice, lime juice, Oleo-Saccharum, Mezcal NARAN and water are all combined then carbonated and bottled to create this fizzy sip. Zinqué’s gin-based Matcha and Melon cocktail combines Spring 44 Gin, egg white, matcha, melon liquor by Midori and fresh lime juice.

The Daughter, offered at the newly opened The Italian Daughter, combines bubbly prosecco, Belvedere Vodka, strawberry-infused syrup, prickly pear-infused syrup and fresh lemon juice. The crisp prosecco and fruity accents of strawberry and prickly pear make a refreshing and pretty pink drink.

STK is honoring veterans, active duty and frontline essential workers by offerings 20 percent off the check with valid ID on Memorial Day. Plus, enjoy $7.99 burgers when you takeout or deliver and brunch all weekend long.

Pedal Haus will have happy hour all day and will be giving our free “Day Drinker” T-shirts to anyone with a military ID who orders a Day Drinker Light Lager (while supplies last). Bottomless breakfast will be available for $12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes the diner’s choice of a select Pedal Haus beer, mimosa, beer-mosa or Bloody Mary. The Chandler location will also open early at 11 a.m.

Chin Up Donuts at The Promenade in North Scottsdale will be making its red, white and blue doughnuts for the holiday weekend in honor of our fallen military personnel.

On Memorial Day, Twin Peaks will be offering a 10 percent discount for all military, active duty or retired, with a valid ID. All four Valley locations will be participating in the special. 

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is offering 15 percent off to active, retired and veterans with its military discount, available year-round. Grimaldi’s has seven locations in Arizona including Gilbert, Chandler, Peoria, Flagstaff and three in Scottsdale.

Humble Pie, with two locations in Scottsdale and Glendale, and Humble Bistro, located in High Street City North, offer 10 percent off for all military with valid ID, available year-round. 

Angry Crab Shack offers 10 percent off year-round for all military with a valid ID at all locations.

Seeking a little action-packed fun post-brunch? Mavrix will open early on Memorial Day. From 11 a.m. to close, veterans and active military personnel and their families can bowl for free. (Fee for shoe rental applies.) Next door, active military and veterans get BOGO racing and virtual reality gameplay sessions at Octane Raceway on Memorial Day. Must show military ID at both Mavrix and Octane Raceway. Races and VR gameplay must be used on day of purchase.

Plus, Rainbow Ryders is offering those in the military a Memorial Day deal for its hot air balloon experience in Phoenix. The deal offers a fixed rate of $155 per person for a shared basket flight at sunrise.

Dave & Buster’s at Tempe Marketplace is offering 20 percent off to active, retired and veterans with its military discount. Plus on Sunday night, enjoy a special late-night happy hour before you hit the arcade area.
