Phoenix’s Newest Coffee Shops

Breaking into the Valley’s java scene this summer, Kähvi Coffee + Cafe and Valley Coffee Co. are bringing local sips, bites and inviting eclectic art environments to Downtown Phoenix.

Opening its doors in Roosevelt Row’s Art District mid-July, Kähvi Coffee + Cafe offers guests 2,000 square feet of a chic, yet relaxed environment. The European-style café concept, stemming from restaurant veteran Julian Wright of Fork & Dagger Hospitality, was inspired by Tulum and brings design elements highlighting lush greenery, stylish lounging and wicker-hanging light fixtures.

Kähvi’s coffee bar menu features seasonal coffee-based drinks, nitro-infused coffee, pressed juices and locally sourced kombucha. Kähvi uses espresso beans stemming from the La Paz region of Honduras, supporting an all-female farm team. A happy hour menu will be available Monday through Friday, featuring a specialty pairing of wine and a charcuterie board from 4 to 6 p.m.

The café houses a food menu, highlighting fresh salads, French-inspired sandwiches, like the Croque Kähvi, and fresh-baked pastries from local bakery Hope’s Artisan Bread.

Also slated to open its doors this summer (mid- to late-July, specifically), Valley Coffee Co. will host a fast-casual dining concept on West Portland Street and Central Avenue in Phoenix. The neighborhood joint will offer its guests the perfect spot to come in and stay awhile in its relaxed atmosphere.

The shop brews coffee from Flagstaff’s Firecreek Coffee Roasters and features a bar menu focusing on locally crafted beers, specialty wines and hard-style kombuchas. In addition to the drink menu, the Valley Coffee Co. offers an eccentric selection of light bites and dishes including barbecue chicken, mushroom jerky, meat pies and fresh-made pastries from Squarz Bakery in Scottsdale.

Valley Coffee Co. welcomes all visitors, even ones with four legs and fur on their backs. The spot encourages guests to bring their pups and even has a specialty cup of java blended just for your pets to enjoy on the oversized patio.
