The Mexicano Now Open in Scottsdale

The Maggiore Group (you know them as the geniuses behind Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker) has opened its newest venture, The Mexicano, in Scottsdale. In addition to a chef-driven menu and Mexico City-inspired design, the nouveau Mexican eatery has the nation’s first build-your-own Michelada bar.

After years of success with Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker, The Maggiore Group has opened the doors of The Mexicano in Scottsdale, headed up by Chef Joey Maggiore and Cristina Maggiore and Executive Chef de Cuisine Fidencio Alatriste. The menu aims to “represent the traditions and vibrancy of Mexico while providing elevated, quality cuisine to all guests.” Diners can enjoy family-style, small-plate dining with standouts being fajitas served on sizzling lava stones, smoking grouper ceviche presented in a coconut shell and decadent charcoal-grilled prime meats.

Its lineup of drinks is just as impressive, with a fine selection of the tequilas, mezcals, beers, wines and delicious cocktails (think piñata margaritas, frozen margarita flights and agave-based cocktails). However, the pièce de résistance is its build-your-own Michelada bar, which marks the first of its kind in the country. The bar features infused tequilas, Mexican draft beers and dozens of toppings ranging from oysters and dry chorizo to tamarindo sticks and habañero cheese.

The show-stopping moments don’t stop at the Michelada bar; The Mexicano also hosts rotating DJs every weekend (in a piñata-inspired DJ booth!), a mobile churro cart and a donkey cart with a tequila ice luge and shot glasses.

Diners have the option to enjoy their meal in the vibrant 5,500-sq.-ft. indoor dining room with a variety of dining and socializing spaces or on the expansive patio.

  1. I don’t understand why these articles don’t give the address of the featured restaurants. I just read about the restaurant of the week- Foch Cafe – and didn’t see an address there either. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  2. It’s located at Cactus & Tatum.
