Featuring a still latte shot on Instagram is almost a rite of passage. Luckily for us desert dwellers, Phoenix serves an abundance of Insta-worthy spots to visit, regardless of whether you are looking for a cozy spot to relax or orchestrating your next feed post. The following are five aesthetic coffee shops in Phoenix.
Futuro
More than just a coffee shop, Futuro serves as a safe space for social gatherings, creating and simply existing inside of its walls. The minimalistic Phoenix shop features a clean and raw design, with metal accents, a neutral color palette and concrete elements. A collection of well-kept plants, rotating art exhibitions and a curated selection of literature can be found throughout the space, while a projector showcases silent films and an assortment of disco balls, mirrored tables and cinder blocks add an eccentric touch. The menu at Futuro pays homage to the owner Jorge Ignacio Torres’ Mexican ancestry, offering an all-Spanish menu with sips like the Abeja, prepared with double espresso, milk and local raw honey; the Cajeta, with double espresso, milk, goat milk caramel and Malden sea salt; or our personal favorite, the Lechera, with double espresso, organic sweetened condensed milk and piloncillo. An assortment of pastries, teas and Mexican plates are also available. To learn more about Futuro, visit instagram.com/futurocoffee.
Lux Central
A photo-worthy latte is not too far away with Lux Central in Downtown Phoenix on your radar. The local tried-and-true spot curates each sip with impeccable foam art, with rustic wooden tables serving as the ultimate photo backdrop. The coffee spot offers a vintage-eclectic interior, with a mixed-matched design and an assortment of dated literature, art pieces and unique typewriters found within the space. Offerings at Lux Central consist of fresh, scratch-made pastries, an ever-changing fare menu, plus an assortment of coffee, wine, beer and cocktails. Some musts to try include the mocha, with in-house, hand-roasted espresso, Ghirardelli chocolate, whole milk and scratch whipped cream or the house chai, offering a blend of sweet and spicy spices. Kähvi Coffee + Cafe
After opening its doors this past year, Kähvi Coffee + Cafe is a Scandinavian-style concept inspired by owner Julian Wright’s worldly travels. The destination, located in Roosevelt Row’s Art District, offers a bright biophilic design with chic lounging and hanging wicker light fixtures. The space is a breath of fresh air in the bustling downtown cityscape, offering a relaxed space to work or catch up with a loved one. The aesthetic coffee shop in Phoenix utilizes espresso beans from the local Peixoto Coffee, and features a specialty lineup of seasonal sips, espresso-based concoctions, beer, wine and locally-sourced kombucha. Mythical Coffee North
What was formerly the home of local favorite Maverick Coffee now houses a new aesthetic coffee shop—Mythical Coffee North. Like its sister site in Gilbert, Mythical Coffee features its staple adorable Loch Ness monster logo on each cup and features a bright and stylistic design. Each sip at the location is inspired by mythical creatures and gods and is almost too pretty to drink. Mythical offers two beverage menus: coffee and not coffee, each offering a lineup of indulgent sips from staple espresso drinks to vibrant teas and pressed juice. A rotating seasonal menu will always be available, with current holiday sips including the sugar cookie latte, inspired by those to-die-for pink frosted cookies, with espresso, sugar cookie syrup, milk, cold foam and rainbow sprinkles, or the gingerbread mocha, with gingerbread syrup, chocolate, milk and espresso. A hot toddy and egg nog-inspired latte are also available. To learn more about Mythical Coffee North, visit mythicalcoffee.com.
Dark Hall Coffee
Located in Central Phoenix, Dark Hall Coffee brings a refreshing darkness to our sunny city, featuring an entirely plant-based food and beverage program within its moody walls. The gothic-inspired shop features an all-black interior and exterior, with dark floral accent walls, eccentric posters and wood elements breathing some life into the space. The vegan menu features an array of handcrafted sips, sweet pastries and cakes, including a variety of coffee, tea, cold brew, craft oat milk, doughnuts, cakes and much more.
