Salt and Lime

A Dash of Salt + Lime: Now Stirring Up Flavor Across the Valley

Salt + Lime Modern Mexican Grill has been a favorite for locals craving casual, flavor-forward Mexican food since it opened in Scottsdale in 2014. Known for its lively atmosphere, bold cocktails, and shareable plates, the restaurant has built a loyal following over the years. Now with a second location in Cave Creek and a third preparing to open in Arcadia, Salt + Lime continues to grow while keeping its approachable, no-fuss charm.

Each location brings a playful energy and bright, modern aesthetic, with colorful tile work, rustic wood accents, and a layout that encourages long, relaxed meals. Guests flow easily between the bar and the patio, especially during weekly specials like Taco Tuesday or Señorita Saturday. A defining part of the Salt + Lime experience is its Chips for Charity program, where $5 gets you unlimited chips and salsa fresca, and a portion of every sale supports a rotating lineup of local nonprofits. It’s a simple idea that adds a little more meaning to every basket—and an extra reason to keep snacking.

The menu takes a familiar foundation of Mexican staples, giving it a fresh, craveable spin. Classic dishes like carnitas tacos, barbacoa enchiladas, and chargrilled fajitas are served alongside lighter, more modern plates. The Ahí crudo is a standout starter, featuring seared tuna with avocado, jalapeño slaw, aioli, and a side of soy sauce for dipping. The Taco Vampiro goes all in with carne asada, melted cheese, serrano chili, chipotle aioli, guacamole, and cotija layered between crisped double tortillas. Seafood fans gravitate toward the Baja taco with its beer-battered cod, cabbage, avocado crema, and pico de gallo.

Drinks are central to the experience, and the cocktail menu doesn’t hold back. House margaritas range from tart and classic to fruit-forward and fiery. The spicy watermelon fresca combines Partida Blanco tequila, Cointreau, watermelon schnapps, jalapeño, lime juice, and agave for a punchy, sweet-heat balance. The Straw-Lapeño leans juicy with fresh strawberry and lime, balanced by a subtle kick of pepper. For something more savory, the 3:10 to Yuma blends chile liqueur, cilantro, lime, and organic agave into a cocktail with a little depth and a lot of character. There’s also a solid lineup of beer, sangria, wine, and tequila-based drinks to round out the mix.

Dessert keeps the tone fun and indulgent. Sopapillas arrive warm and airy, tossed in cinnamon sugar and finished with drizzles of housemade caramel and chocolate sauce. Churros are crisp and golden, served with your pick of dipping sauces—classic chocolate, rich caramel, or a tequila-lime blend with just enough zing. For something a little more decadent, the choco flan fuses moist chocolate cake and silky flan into one rich, sweet bite, finished with powdered sugar and more of that signature caramel drizzle.

Both Salt + Lime locations are open Monday to Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
