A Summer of Flavor with The Phoenician’s Culinary Countdown Series

Summer is a time to sip, savor, and celebrate. The Phoenician’s most beloved dining experiences make it easy to raise a toast to the season with the return of its Culinary Countdown Series. The limited-time series, available through Sept. 2, invites diners to enjoy specially priced and beautifully curated menus at J&G Steakhouse, Mowry & Cotton, The Phoenician Tavern, and for Afternoon Tea.

Open Thursday to Sunday, with seatings from 2 to 3 p.m., Afternoon Tea at The Phoenician invites diners to escape the hottest part of the day with a delicious Full Tea spread for a special Culinary Countdown Series price of $85. Full Tea includes the tea of your choice plus a three-course meal (think delicate finger sandwiches with everything from traditional egg salad to poached lobster, sweet scones, and a variety of cakes, cookies, and pastries).

With its stunning mountain views, premium meat and seafoods offerings, and an elegant wine list, J&G Steakhouse is a Scottsdale favorite for an elevated evening out. Via the Culinary Countdown Series, guests can enjoy a two-course, prix-fixe menu for $65. The special menu comprises an amuse of black truffle cheese fritters, followed by an appetizer of endive-and-sugar snap pea salad or charred corn ravioli. For the main course, diners can choose from salmon with sautéed corn and fingerling potatoes or a grilled tequila-marinated prime flat-iron steak paired with angel hair pasta. Note that J&G Steakhouse will be closed every Tuesday, July and August.

For $45 per person at Mowry & Cotton–The Phoenician’s rustic-chic restaurant with next-level modern eats and great cocktails–diners can savor a three-course, prix-fixe menu for $45 (including dessert). Pickled deviled eggs or roasted tomato flatbread provide a savory start before digging into tender Scottish salmon or charred hanger steak. Each Culinary Countdown Series meal at Mowry & Cotton is finished with brown sugar cheesecake or mulled berry chocolate cake. And save the date for a porch concert on the Fourth of July from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. when the restaurant welcomes a festive performance from Billy Shaw Jr. Band.

The tavern also offers happy hour daily from 3 to 6 p.m. and hosts a rousing dueling pianos show every Saturday from 8 to 10 p.m. Note that The Phoenician Tavern is closed on every Monday, June and August.

Resort guests and locals are also invited to pop by Thirsty Camel, through July 27, for Throwback Thursday happy hour, from 2 p.m. to close. The special menu features select $15 cocktails and specially priced food items.
