Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles, an original dining concept created by Ne-Yo and Chef Crystal Smith, has opened its doors at Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale.
Newly opened Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles serves up crispy and juicy fried chicken paired with golden waffles and the restaurant’s award-winning mac and cheese. The Glendale outpost marks the restaurant’s second location, following the brand’s successful debut in Atlanta. “We look forward to bringing a taste of Atlanta to Arizona and sharing both our love for chicken and waffles and music with guests,” says Ne-Yo, in a press release. “Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles original location has been a huge hit and we believe it will become a new favorite dining destination at Westgate as well.”
The new Glendale restaurant will also be home to a full-service bar, serving a Ne-Yo signature cocktail, his spin on a strawberry lemonade. In addition to serving brunch, lunch and dinner, with late-night service until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, diners can enjoy music from a DJ at brunch every Sunday. Takeout and delivery also is available.

The 6,500-sq.-ft. dining destination is found near Westgate Entertainment District’s Yard House and Opa Life Greek Cafe restaurants. Diners can admire albums from famous Atlanta-bred musicians decking the walls of the restaurant, including OutKast, Ne-Yo, Ludacris and Usher. Original pieces of artwork, a photo wall and an Instagram-worthy neon signage–reading “Everyday I’m Waffle’n”–all grace the cool dining space at Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles.
