Federal Pizza, known for small-batch craft beer and wood-fired pizza, is set to open its second location inside the revitalized Paradise Valley Mall area in early 2025. This new venue will feature a fresh design with an indoor-outdoor layout and a unique take-out and retail experience.
Federal Pizza has been a beloved restaurant in Uptown Phoenix for over 11 years. The new location at RED Development-led PV (formerly Paradise Valley Mall) promises to carry on the tradition with a menu that includes wood-fired pizza, house-made pasta, salad, craft wines and beers. Popular items like the Flaming Lips pizza (topped with pepperoni, salami, gorgonzola, hot honey and rosemary) and the Big Star Pizza (topped with sausage, pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives and wood-roasted onions) will be available. The new location will also offer Detroit-style deep-dish pizza, such as Gus’s Pan Pizzas and the Supremium Pizza.
Diners can also enjoy appetizers like buttermilk fried tenders and loaded brussels, as well as entrees like Chef’s Classic Chicken Parm and the Mickey White pasta. Additionally, ice cream pints from Churn will be available for takeout, adding a sweet touch to the Federal Pizza experience.
The new Paradise Valley Federal Pizza location will be designed by Upward Projects’ in-house team in collaboration with Mike Rumpeltin of Brick & West Design. Rumpeltin, known for his work on Joyride Taco House and multiple Postino locations, will blend modern construction with vintage elements reminiscent of the original Federal Pizza location. Key features will include an all-new take-out lounge and growler station, dedicated parking, and stylized concrete columns that echo the original location’s mid-century modern design.

Fans from all over the Valley have been asking for years if we’d open one in their neighborhood, but, until now, we just couldn’t find the perfect fit,” says Lauren Bailey, co-founder and CEO of Upward Projects, in a press release. “We’ve been really impressed with the thoughtful way RED Development has rethought and reinvigorated this landmark property, and are proud to bring our first-ever restaurant to the established, and evolving north Phoenix community.”
