First & Last has opened on Roosevelt Row in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. The chef-driven, new modern American dining destination is an original concept from Robb and Ashley Hammond.
First & Last has opened in the historic Gold Spot building (built in 1925) on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Roosevelt, boasting a warm and inviting interior by Designed by Been. The restaurant houses more than 3,000 square foot space with indoor and outdoor seating for 150 (decked in desert plants and natural materials), an open kitchen, a chef’s counter and an intimate patio. Above the main dining room is a second-level dining room called “the basket,” offering a one-of-a-kind space for private dining.
The new casual concept has a focus on fresh seasonal cuisine, inspired by Executive Chef Robb’s travels, alongside an extensive wine and craft cocktail program. “My goal is to bring the best produce and products to plates each day, along with introducing a new dish to the menu weekly,” says Robb in a press release. “We’ve built a passionate and talented culinary team, and I look forward to working with them and having complete creative freedom.”
First & Last is open Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m., with happy hour offered daily from 4 to 6 p.m. To learn more, visit www.firstandlastphx.com.
