Opening this summer, Heritage Kitchen + Cocktails is a modern American restaurant in North Scottsdale with coastal influences. Founded by restaurateur Eric J. Greenwald and investor Mark Goldberg and led by Executive Chef Christopher Brugman, the restaurant will offer an elevated yet approachable experience with globally inspired cuisine, fresh seasonal ingredients, and expertly crafted cocktails.
Designed to be more than just a restaurant, Heritage Kitchen + Cocktails aims to create an inviting atmosphere where guests can gather over bold, beautifully crafted dishes inspired by the coastal kitchens of Southern Italy and Spain. The menu will highlight fresh seafood, premium meats, and seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, ranging from fresh pastas and artisan pizzas to large entrees and shareable plates.
Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Christopher Brugman, whose impressive background includes recognition from Food & Wine, a feature in James Beard Taste America, and a finalist appearance on Food Network’s Chopped. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Hollywood, Brugman has worked alongside acclaimed chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, David LeFevre, and Scottsdale’s own Charles Wiley. His experience spans two major hotel openings in Phoenix – Mountain Shadows and Castle Hot Springs – further showcasing his culinary expertise and creativity.
Eric J. Greenwald, a Valley restaurant veteran with over three decades in the industry, also owns Lorenzo’s Italian Kitchen, ProteinHouse, and Wicked Cool Catering. He previously held leadership roles with the Mastro Restaurant Group and has served on the National Restaurant Association’s Pizzeria Industry Council and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Advisory Board.

The restaurant’s interior will reflect its warm and welcoming philosophy, featuring sleek black accents, natural wood finishes, expansive windows, and a dramatic wine display connecting the dining space. Guests can enjoy an open-air bar and more than 1,500 square feet of intimate patio seating.
