Horse & Hyde, an upscale country bar and eatery, has opened its doors in Phoenix’s Uptown Plaza. The venue brings a fresh twist on the classic country bar experience, blending Southern charm with a sophisticated Nashville vibe.
Horse & Hyde offers a welcoming space designed to transport guests into the heart of Nashville’s upscale country scene. The atmosphere sets it apart from other establishments with old brick walls, tufted booths, soft candlelight, a cozy fireplace, and a denim-colored wall. A mirrored mosaic longhorn and elegant bar tops enhance the space, creating a unique environment where guests can relax, sip on craft cocktails, and enjoy live country music performances.
“I wanted to create a different take on the stereotypical ‘country honky tonk,’” says Aaron Lopo, founder of Horse & Hyde, in a recent press release. “I love double meanings, and the name ‘Horse & Hyde’ reflects that playful and layered idea. More importantly, we aim to give a platform for young artists to master their music crafts and get seen.” The new location joins Horse & Hyde’s Arcadia outpost, which opened in Summer 2023.
Signature drinks like the Cowboy Carajillo, known for its espresso kick, and the barrel-aged bourbon cocktail, City Slicker, bring bold flavors to the menu. The Lavender French 75 adds a touch of class, while the newly introduced smoked meats from the commissary elevate the saloon dining experience.
Lopo’s journey to this milestone began with a food truck in Philadelphia. His passion for creating memorable dining experiences has culminated in the success of Horse & Hyde, which has become known as a “neighborhood hitching post.” The bar fosters a sense of community with its family-like atmosphere, exceptional service, and commitment to delivering great food in a stylish setting.
To celebrate the opening, the new location will have live music every night and offer a daily happy hour from 2 to 6 p.m.
