With its retro-grandpa basement vibes, pinball machines and mouthwatering pizza, Night Owl is open in South Scottsdale, serving as the new go-to hangout spot in the neighborhood.
Created by local nightlife pros, including Tucker Woodbury of Genuine Concepts, Chuckie Duff and Ariel “Ari” Bracamonte of Cobra Arcade Bar and Chef Greg Ziegler of Ziggy’s Pizza and Stardust Pinball Lounge, Night Owl is a new low-key entertainment hub located on the northeast corner of Hayden Road in Scottsdale.
“We feel South Scottsdale is an up-and-coming neighborhood with lots of new apartments and young families, but still underserved when it comes to great local hangouts,” says Woodbury in a press release. “Who doesn’t crave a great neighborhood lounge serving smash burgers and pizzas?”
The new venue offers a vintage-eclectic vibe, with dozens of skateboards adorning the walls (a nod to the nearby Wedge Skate Park) from Scottsdale Sidewalk Surfer, a local skate shop. Like Woodbury’s fellow lounge, Little Woody, Night Owl is furnished with unique items, including tennis rackets, snowboards, clocks and barrels. A collection of pinball machines, flat-screen TV’s and arcade games can be found throughout the space, in addition to pool tables on an oversized outdoor patio.
When guests aren’t in the zone on the pinball machines, they can enjoy some of the latest sports games on one of the many television screens in the space, catch a live music set on the center stage or venture through the warped carnival mirrors in the hallway to the bathrooms.
The local hangout’s menu features an array of premium pizzas, smash burgers and an assortment of craft cocktails, beers and other libations to complement. Be sure to order a shot off the “shot bell” menu for a frozen sip served with a loud bell to ring once the drink has gone down the hatch.
